Yeni Lim-B is a self-taught local illustrator. Born into a mixed heritage family, she grew up welcoming different cultures and their uniqueness.
Yeni’s illustrations are inspired by everything that swirls around her, from childhood memories that stay fondly in her mind, to beautiful architecture and the Barang Barang we have in Singapore. You will find an old window grill in “My Flat” which was a feature in her parents’ flat in Telok Blangah. Local food and kueh-kuehs are also common elements featured in her works as they are greatly loved at home. Growing up, celebrating festivities with home-cooked food was a norm – a bustling and fun kitchen affair for the entire family!
While living in Asia and Europe, Yeni explored art culture across different cities and those experiences reconfirmed her true passion for art. Towards late 2019, she started Yenidraws to showcase her work. This year, in March 2022, she took a leap of faith and opened up a retail space, Yenidraws & Friends, at 55 Tiong Bahru Road.
Through Yenidraws, Yeni hopes to make art accessible for everyone to own a touch of colourful heritage in our homes. You will also find brands by other women entrepreneurs at the shop as she wishes to support the dreams of other ladies too!
